An order, a changed price, a tag that was added, a schedule, a call from your ERP. Filter it so the workflow only starts when it matters.

Triggers that know what changed

Tags added, price changed, status changed, back in stock, a metafield edited: change triggers carry the value before and after, so a rule can say "price decreased" or "status changed to active".

Every webhook event Shopify offers is a trigger, plus schedules, manual runs, incoming webhooks from other systems, abandoned checkouts and storefront behaviour (best effort, with visitor consent).

Every Admin API mutation and query

Send email through your own mail server with attachments from a link or from a file the workflow created. Post messages to your team's channels.

Files, SFTP and downloads

Pick up a stock file from an SFTP or FTP server, download a feed from a link, write a CSV, mail it or drop it on a server. Files are kept in your store's file space.

Built to keep running

Temporary failures are retried automatically, a workflow that reacts to its own change is recognised and stopped, and you get an alert by email or text message when a run fails.

FAQs

What counts as a run?＋
One workflow started by one event. Steps are not counted, so a workflow with twenty steps costs the same as one with two. Events your trigger filter rejects, runs stopped by loop protection and test runs are free.
Do I need to write code?＋
No. Triggers, conditions and actions are forms. Code is there for the cases forms cannot cover: a JavaScript step or a Liquid step, with your secrets and store data at hand.
Can a workflow change the thing that started it?＋
Yes. When a workflow updates a product and Shopify reports that update back, the app recognises the echo of its own change within a short window and does not start the workflow again. Chains of workflows are limited in depth, and a workflow that fires too often for one resource is turned off and you are told.
What happens when a step fails?＋
Temporary failures such as a rate limit or a server that does not answer are retried automatically with growing waits. Anything else fails the run, you get an alert, and the run history shows the step, its error and every try.
Can I test without changing my store?＋
Yes. A test is a preview by default: reads run for real, and every step that would change something reports what it would do instead. You can also run a test for real when you are ready.
Which permissions does the app need?＋
None up front beyond the basics. Each trigger and action names the permission it needs, and you grant them one by one on the Permissions page when a workflow uses them.
Can other systems start a workflow?＋
Yes. The incoming webhook trigger gives a workflow its own secret URL, and the Developer API can run workflows too. See Incoming webhooks.
Where does it run and where is my data?＋
On Google Cloud in the EU (europe-west1, Belgium). Run data is encrypted at rest. Details are in the Privacy Policy and the DPA.
Is there an API?＋
Yes, a REST API and an MCP server with read, write and execute keys. Everything the editor does is available, except the few things that need you in the Shopify admin, such as granting a permission. See Developer API and MCP.
